Learning to Render Water

I have spent a bit of time scouring through tutorials on the internet in order to work how to create realistic water using sketch-up and then rendering it in Indigo. The best tutorial I found can be found at:

http://www.indigorenderer.com/documentation/manual/indigo-sketchup/tutorials/modelling-pool-sketchup

These were reasonably quick renders compared to the amount of time needed to render water accurately, but they portray the premise. Unfortunately due to the tracing method you must use in order to render water - Bidirectional with MLT it is the tracing method that takes the most time to render.

For this image I have played with the displacement figures which determine the rise of the ripples and the proximity they have to one another. I wanted to create emphasis on the water compared to the above image.
